 NORFOLK, Va. —Virtual Navy pilots and crew members returned to Naval Air Station Oceana and Norfolk Naval Station on Saturday after a nearly 6-month deployment. The deployment was part of Virtual Carrier Strike (VCSG-3) assigned aboard the aircraft carrier (CVN-71) USS Theodore Roosevelt. Fighter Squadron 103 (VF-103) "Jolly Rogers" Fighter Squadron 14 (VFA-14) “Tophatters” Fighter Squadron 86 (VFA-86) “Sidewinders” Marine Strike Fighter Squadron 224 (VMFA-224) “Fighting Bengals” Fighter Squadron 111 (VF-111) “Sundowners” Arrived at NAS Oceana in the early evening along with Airborne Early Warning Squadron’s (VAW-112) and (VAW-117) flying 5 E-2D “Advanced Hawkeye” aircraft returned to Norfolk Naval Station. |
